Someone made an impact on my life, or inspired me to make an impact on another, by... Simply looking beyond himself and pulled through a parking spot leaving an open one up front and in front of me. Thank you!

I was around ten years old, we'd just moved back to Oklahoma from California. The house we rented came with an old pair of roller skates, the kind that strap on to the outside of your shoes. So I practiced figured eights on the front porch. My uncle Rodger would come over to smoke weed and watch the "Dream Team" with my step dad. He took a few minutes to give me some pointers and encouragement. He said " Just keep practicing, soon you'll be skating along feeling the wind whipping though your hair" We lost him the following year, but I always remember that he took the time out to give me some guidance & I'm so grateful for that!
Thank you Uncle Roger

“Today my faith was tested like no other day. I spent at least an hour on the phone with AT&T trying to figure out why I had no internet. After explaining to three different customer service reps that I had been hospitalized, no one was seemed  to care. Linda was the fourth customer service rep I talked to,  but  was  actually listening  to me,  but  had  to place me on hold.  I thought about hanging up once or twice cuz I was trying to cut down a tree limb. So this lady named Linda comes back on the phone and says you didn't tell me you had a good friend at AT&T,  and I said neither did you,  as we both laughed she told me that she was going to be able to help me get my services turned back on and that as long as I made my payment on Thursday there would be no reconnection fees and I was going to be taken care of.

This is how customer service is supposed to be!  Not like the previous three people that I  had  talked  to,  including  a  supervisor.    Linda  actually took the time to listen to me and I am so grateful and thankful and blessed that I had the opportunity to talk to her on the phone thank you Linda you deserve a raise and I am blessed for having the opportunity to talk to you.

You  made  a  positive  impact  on  my  life  today  by  just  taking  the  time  to  listen  to  me.    Thank  you!”

“I work for a large, profit-mongering, soul-crushing corporation. Said corporation makes caring for people extremely difficult by giving inadequate time/resources to do so.
Caring for people is what I do for a living, and my current circumstances (wanting to help, but being unable to) has started impacting my marriage, my friendships, my health, and my ability to enjoy life in general.
The following is 100% true:
There was a recent study indicating that Tylenol might negatively impact a person's ability to empathize with others. On the day that David interacted with me, I had started my shift by checking the break room for some Tylenol (there wasn't any). My thinking was that by dampening my ability to empathize, I would be better able to cope with my current circumstances (wanting to help people, but being unable to). The fact that this idea had occurred to me, and that I had gone so far as to pursue it... Well, that's just a bummer.
Having someone with a friendly disposition and jovial attitude letting me know that there is still goodness in the world has had a tremendous impact on me personally. I'm looking forward to the proper night's sleep that I'm going to get tonight. I haven't had one of those in too long.
Sincerely, thank you. Keep it up, and I'll try to do the same :D”
